Ok Ray was a great movie. Jamie Foxx played expertly. His performance should win him an award. I just have one question. A movie about a blind man is almost certainly going to attract people that are blind or VI. So, in saying that why is there sub titles? It is an anigma to me why there would be sub titles. There was important diolog in those sub titles and if you didn't have someone to read it to you then you didn't know. That to me is not ok. This is the united states where law suits flursish. I think we should sue. We could win I tell ya. Think about it. And to drive the point home we could have law lord represent us in cort. Think about it, a bunch of blind and VI people with a blind lawyer sueing because they couldn't enjoy a movie about a blind man! It's perfect! Think about all the press we could get. I can see the headlines now. The blind wants to see what all the hub bub is about. A movie about viet nam is sure to attract viet nam vets rights? So a movie about a blind man! Genius! we'll all be rich I tell ya! Ray changed lives before, and he will do so again.

I'm not a qualified United States lawyer, but you don't have a case. YOu really do not have a case. And a good thing too, America is far too litigious.

I haven't seen Ray yet, but I really want to. I didn't really want to go see it in the theater, because I thought that people who saw me would be all like "Oh, of course she'd go see a movie about a blind guy." I didn't want that though, so now that it's out on DVD I'm gonna buy it, because everyone has been raving about it and how good it is. As for the whole subtitles thing, I'm kind of in the middle. I mean, coming out with a movie about a blind guy with sub titles in it is obviously rediculous, because it's going to attract a lot of attention from blind and vi people, but I don't think filing a lawsuit is really going to solve anything. I mean, I'm all for equil rites, and everything, but the reality is that this a "sighted world," and I doubt that people would stop putting sub titles in movies just because of a lawsuit; they probably wouldn't take us seriously anyway. Oh, and why are we, (the blind and vi community,) waiting for a movie about a blind man to come out to complain? I mean, why now? Sub titles have been in movies forever.

Well, that's strange. If there were any subtitles, my houseparent who went to that movy with me would have read them to me but he didn't say anything abot subtitles.

lol everyone liten up, df was again just kidden about the whole law suit thing! hehehehehe But yeah, there are words at the bottom of the screen towards the end of the show. Actualy i think it is at the end of the movie. It is telling what happened to him after the movie. It is a really good movie though. I would recomend it!

I bought the DVD the moment it came out. I have been waiting for that since the movie came to the theaters back in November 04. Jamie Foxx not only played Ray extremely convincing (the way Ray moved, sang, smiled, etc) but he looked exactly like him! It's amazing he could have been Ray's twin if he wasn't so many decades younger. I also saw a documentatry on TV about how Ray himself was teaching Jamie to play the piano blindfolded so he could get the feel of it. I am so glad they made this movie. Ray is a true legend and now his life is recorded and available for generations to come. I trully hope that they will make a descriptive version of the movie and if they do, I hope you will all get to either see it or own it. It is worth the 20 so dollars it costs!!!
